Before You Come:
- Medical: if you intend to learn to dive or indeed haven't dived for a bit, it's a good idea to get a full medical check to make sure that you are OK to SCUBA dive. We can send you the check list upon request so you can see for yourself if you have any contradictions to diving.
- Visa's: You do not need a VISA as long as you only intend to be in Dahab However if you hope to do a trip outside of Dahab (e.g. St Katherine's) you will need a visitor VISA which can be sorted before you come (recommended) or bought at Sharm airport when you get here (for the brave) If you are staying in Dahab and do not need a VISA, simply write " Dahab, Sinai only " on the back of your entry card and sign it (this is handed to you during your flight to Sharm). Our address for this same form is: Dive Urge, Eel Garden, Dahab.the only exception to this is if you are coming via Israel.
- Transfer: We offer a pick up and transfer from Sharm Airport to Dive Urge, where someone with a Dive Urge sign will be there to meet you with a mini Bus .Please ask for details.
- Vaccinations: Check with your local healthcare clinic as to what is needed. Note we are in the Sinai Desert and not mainland Egypt, and therefore not susceptible to things like Yellow Fever etc. Usually you should be up to date with Tetanus and Hepatitis A and B.
- Passports: Make sure they are up-to-date and in order.
- Flights: These are easily available via internet by searching under flights for Red Sea. You can also try for flight's directly on-line at www.redseaflights.com
- Money: We are not able to take VISA payments here for your holidays. The best currency to bring is Sterling as this is what we charge in, but we can also accept Euros or US Dollars. Or just bring a VISA card as you can get cash out when you get here. Currency here is the Egyptian pound, one UK pound buys approx. 10 Egyptian pounds. There is a cashpoint in Dahab Village, which is about 10 minutes walk away.
- Alcohol: As it is a Muslim country, Alcohol is available but not as widespread as in UK. Beer is available at five minutes walk from us, at the Furry Cup Bar but please respect the local laws by not openly carrying it or taking it to restaurants without asking first. You may want to buy some Duty Free and we can keep it cool for you during your stay.
